Matt Kelly has been playing the playing guitar since age 10. He quickly became obsessed with the sound, look and feel of the instrument. “Even before I got my hands on one I started assembling a band. I learned a lot by ear and from watching my brother John play circles around me.”
Matt has been playing in clubs since 16 and has years of experience playing all sorts of venues. He has studied many styles of music while studying with Peter Rogine, Joe Monk and Joe Carbone. “I learned that there were no limits to what the guitar could do.” His influences range from Wes Montgomery, Jim Hall and Tony Motolla to George Harrison, Dave Navarro, and Dimebag Darrell.
Last summer Matt came across RKS guitars and was instantly attracted from the first note he played. “The guitar looks futuristic but it feels like a trusty old jazz box and a solid body at the same time. The sounds range from screaming metal to the warmest jazz tones. I felt like the RKS fit my style like a glove and I am truly honored to be part of the new guitar revolution that RKS has created.”
